Einleitung
Generell sollte man bei Serverinstallationen das Prinzip verfolgen, soviel wie möglich zu trennen, sprich dedizierte
Funktionalität auf dedizierter Hardware. Das ist vor allem bei der Fehlersuche sowie bei "Backup and Restore"
interessant, wenn es zugleich um die Registry oder um Dinge geht, die im Systemstate enthalten sind, etwa die
Active Directory Datenbank eines Domain Controllers. Jetzt ist diese Trennung aber bei kleinen oder
mittelständigen Unternehmenaber nicht immer möglich. Es gibt jedoch Fälle, die man sich vor der Installation
gut überlegen muss.
Eine der wichtigen Regeln ist z.B. das die Installation von Outlook und Exchange auf der gleichen Maschine
von Microsoft nicht empfohlen und auch vom Microsoft Product Support nicht unterstützt wird. Die Versionen
spielen hierbei eigentlich keine Rolle, auch wenn einige Konfigrationen sogar von Microsoft
selbst nicht
getestet wurden.
